2020 Annual AASL Conference
CANCELLATION NOTICE
We regret to inform you that the 42nd AASL Annual Conference will not take place in San Diego. The Conference Planning Committee determined that the combination of health risks and cancelations mean we would not be able to offer a quality conference for attendees.
The Committee will investigate alternatives, including rescheduling and / or organizing a virtual conference.
What To Do Now
Registration costs will be refunded in full. If you do not receive your refund within one week, please contact AASL Treasurer Kasia Leousis: ksl0008@auburn.edu.
If you are not going to travel to San Diego, please take steps to cancel or change your flight and hotel reservation. The reservation policy for AASLs hotel block requires 72 hours notice before arrival to avoid a penalty. Many airlines are altering cancelation and change fees.
We will continue to update you on our plans. We appreciate your support and hope we can find an alternate venue to share our scholarly work in 2020.
OPEN: Libraries Knowledge Equity
In 2020 AASL will explore what it means for libraries to be OPEN by:
- Performing “open heart surgery” on architectural libraries to challenge assumptions about library functions and services, and to position the library at the heart of the campus
- Addressing approaches to increase awareness of open access and alternatives to high-cost publishing
- Exploring issues related to interdisciplinary collaborations between architecture and allied disciplines in the library, the classroom, and digital spaces
- Challenging AASL to increase diversity, inclusivity, and equity
